Slow start to today - it was so warm last night we had to open the window at 2am and it was as warm outside as in. Feels like spring. So to get cool enough to sleep the traffic kept me awake, not Dave though he can sleep through anything.
Started playing with my Soap and Glory giftset this morning. Foam bath, shower gel, face scrub etc and then handcream, footcream and body butter - even finished it off with the body mist - this could be fun. Once we got everyone up and lunched we started out for Clent Hills - as we got closer it started raining - so we kept going till it stopped and we got to the Wyre Forest and went off the route for an hours walk. We felt like we'd earned the drinks, Latte for me, Hot Choc for Mike, Tea for Dave and Cola for Sarah - still can't pursuade her to drink hot drinks.
Back via the scenic route as there was a road block on the way due to an accident - will have to check the news later and find out what had happened.
Bit more clearing up when we got back and then cooking dinner. More washing in the machine and some in the dryer and need to get her ladyship to empty the dishwasher.
Oooo Madagascar is on - Mike is lost in the moment.... still playing with the camera feature on his DSiXL and we all appear on it morphed.
Back of the green jacket finished last night and started the front.

Christmas Day
Well that's that then.
Mike got up just after 7am this morning and came in to wish us happy christmas and then asked if he could look in his stocking. He then bought the presents back in to unwrap on our bed. A pair of Crocodile eye glasses, a scraper picture of a dragon and some sweets. He then went back to his room for an hour to watch a film before asking permission to wake his sister. She did not come and ask to open her presents - what a difference age makes.
We got up and got dressed (except Mike) and went down to have breakfast - they checked that the stockings were there and then got ready to eat up. After it was cleared away we sorted the presents and got down to the real work of the morning. We took it in turns and watched each other open the presents - everyone seemed really pleased with their stuff and after a short video and some photos they all settled down to playing with their bits. Dave filled his watchbox (nearly full) and Mike opened his Dragonoid Collussus and made it - Sarah started learning Sign Language and I read my Quilting book.
Phoned both sets of parents and Uncle Alan/Aunt Sue to wish them Merry Christmas and sorted out going to Alans on Friday.
Made lunch - turkey cooked really well - potatoes were not that brill but I knew that when I peeled them, should try a new brand on Xmas Day, everything else was ok. Forgot to cook the stuffing - what the hell - no-one noticed.
Started creating my 2012 Control Journal - as per FlyLady, haven't got far yet but trying to do little jobs while I see them rather than thinking it needs doing and then immediately thinking - later. Even watered the plant in the downstairs loo this evening.
Watched the new Doctor Who, not bad and I'm currently waiting for Downton Abbey at 9pm. Mike went to bed and Sarah has gone to watch Buffy. Started a new bottle of Whiskey and thought I'd type on here before finishing the back of the Green Knitted Jacket i'm making. The purple cardigan is on one side for tonight, but only need to make the sleeves and do the neck and it will be done.
Need to get sorting out the list of UFO's as if the list doesn't exist I can't tick things off it.
Back to the Jacket now.

Early Christmas Eve
Ironing all done - tablecloths all ready for tomorrows lunch - just got to hope that the turkey defrosts in time or we could be eating it on Boxing day - but what the heck.
The trouser I wanted to wear tomorrow have a hem down on one leg so got some stitching to do tonight.
Mike is finally in the bath and will hopefully be all clean and shiny for tomorrow. Sarah will probably jump in before she goes to bed. I'm looking forward to a quiet evening but I was thinking, while ironing, that now would probably be a good time to make a christmas to do list with all the things on it I've either done or forgotten so that next year I'll have a crib sheet.
Yep, that's me and lists again but this one might be useful. I can couple it with my re-use of Fly-lady and the control journal and make a christmas holiday section. I'm figuring I can include things I need to buy early like presents, cards, cracker kits etc as well as food lists - I can add onto it anything that people moan that I've forgotten this year. Like, I nearly forgot a bottle of bubbly to drink with lunch on christmas day - sent Dave out for that so saved. Even if it's just me to drink it if I'd forgotten it I would be really fed up tomorrow.

Couldn't find how to get into my blog today - need some serious help on this computer - never believe I used to teach computer studies - things have changed so much.

Santa Clause 2 is on, the cake has no marzipan or icing yet and I forgot to get the turkey out of the freezer yesterday and had to get it out this morning. Fingers crossed for me that it defrosts in time to eat tomorrow.
Kids sacks don't look as full today as they usually do - cost the same but as they get older the presents get smaller. Kept hold of the gifts my friends have given me just in case there's not much to open for me tomorrow and I'm the biggest kid of all...
Diet is on the way out a bit - not done too bad so far but realllllly overdid the whiskey last night.
Knitted a bit more on my green jacket but it's hard on the hands so only did a little bit. Still haven't got the list sorted but I have re-visited Fly-Lady's website to get things on track over the holidays. Still finding my way around this site. Just found the button to add a picture so be prepared for some later - mainly after christmas.
Did a bit of clearing ready for the weekend, Kids are hiding upstairs in case I find anything else for them to do, Dave is in the bath - he's asked for a list of jobs and I thought 'yeah right' but we might try it.
Still got some wrapping to do - and need to bring up the food from the office - don't know where it's gonna go yet but I'll find somewhere - not like it's going to be around for long.
Need to think about food for the weekend. Unfreeze the turkey etc. Still need to get pressies for mine and Davids christmas crackers, kids are done.
Three days without Farmville now. Withdrawal symptons are easing a bit. It was taking up too much time that I could spend getting my UFO's finished. I'm thinking about writing a list of them but need to find out how to put it on her.

Thursday 22nd December
Well - today is three sleeps till Santa as the kids having been singing all day. We've had a good day together. Sarah went ice skating with her friend Caitlin this morning with instructions to call if she broke something. (think Bambi on Ice) Took Mikey to get his hair cut - this did not go down too well... door was locked when we got there and he thought he'd won a reprieve but the guy had just popped out for a paper. Much complaining later one shaven head (not quite but might as well be from the fuss he made). Photo to follow when I can get his sister to sit on him so I can take one.
Went into work at Weightwatchers - recurring theme here but unusual today as it was the last one before christmas and I lost 1 1/2lb today. Watch this space it doesn't happen very often.
Sarah came back from skating - nothing broken and she brought back all the money I gave her - this is turning out to be a good day. Now lunch in the pub. Thirteen of us plus assorted baby/toddler/kids. Christmas dinner for the knitting club and celebrating Tracey being over from America and meeting one yar old Amelia for the first time. She was delightful and a happy bunny. My two pretended to be little angels (see told you it was a strange day). It was a good lunch.
Got back and got on with knitting Jennifer christmas jumper for 2012 (yes, you heard right I'm knitting now for 2012 and it's not even 2011 xmas yet). I'm planning to make most of the presents for next xmas so need to start now.
Next year I'm also planning to do lots of finishing of things. Yes I've said that before but this time I've aired it in public. I shall be sorting out a list of what needs doing and posting my progress so this time I'll be accountable.
Whiskey and sleepy time soon, may knit a bit more before bed so when it's done there will be something to tick off the list that doesn't exist yet....
